Explorers

At this stage in their development, children become aware of their surroundings and start to engage in social connections.

A baby will become increasingly mobile, developing the ability to grasp objects and to crawl and sit up.  This empowers the child to explore and discover their new world. Children learn about themselves and their environment through motor and reflex actions.

At The Little House Learning Center, we create a learning environment for this stage of development by providing different natural materials, such as clay and sand, among others, so the little learners can feel and manipulate these natural elements. The use of mirrors, color, and music are also important and used to pique the child’s curiosity, both about themselves and their new environment.
